Information cascade
Information cascade- individuals act more like a coherent mass. They sometimes act fast as in a revolution or happen slow as new societal norms. Once information cascades start it becomes self-perpetuating, picks up new adherents on the strength of having attracted others before. An initial shock can propogate throughout a large system, even when the shock itself, is small. We must account for, not only how small shocks can sometimes change entire systems, but, how, mostly, they don’t.
