Pascal, Blaise
Pensees
Sec. 9, 586
If no obscurity, man wouldn't know his corruption. If no light, would not seek remedy. Its not only fair, but advantageous, that God is part revealed and part hidden. Its equally dangerous for man to know God, unaware of his own wretchedness, as to know his wretchedness without knowing God.
