Anxiety

Anxiety disorder is known by excessive, uncontrollable and, often, irrational worry about everyday things, disproportionate to the actual source of worry.

Excessive worry interferes with daily function, people anticipate disaster, concerned about money, marital or work difficulties. Symptoms include fatigue, difficulty breathing or concentrating, an otherwise inability to control anxiety.

Social disorder is an intense fear and avoidance of negative public scrutiny, public embarassment or social interaction. Social anxiety shows itself in sweating, blushing and difficulty speaking. Social anxiety is avoided but can lead to isolation.

Therapy considers the anxious are shown proof, in the real world, their dysfunctional thought processes are unrealistic. Gradually, victims are exposed to their fears, sequentially, overcoming them, in time.

Some studies find social skills training can overcome anxiety. Though, not clear which skills and training is required, rather than support with general social functioning, exposure to social situations.
