Perfectionism
The following are tips to sharpen perfectionism.
Worth the Time
Sometimes that extra hour on a project can really take it to the next level. However, be careful of diminishing returns. Keep track when your time and effort are no longer paying off.
Mistakes Cause Tragedy
Who likes to make mistakes? On the other hand, research repeatedly shows that keeping your eye on what might go wrong will inhibit and decrease your performance.
All In It’s Value
Who doesn't want to be a stand out at everything they do? When unchecked, however, less important activities rob you of precious time, effort and limited resources. Learn to prioritize based on your values, interests and strengths.
The Right People
Sometimes others' standards are lower and, maybe, unacceptable. On the other hand, if you are always the go-to guy, the likelihood of burnout increases. Build yourself a cabinet, different people who excel in different areas of your life. Rely on this group to share the load.
Know Your Production Level
It’s a great feeling to leave work with an empty in box. How often does that happen? Skipping breaks and vacations can actually reduce productivity and creativity. Make sure to actively plan your schedule.
